Schedule of Events
Saturday, March 11, 2017 | Pleasants Family Room in the Louis Round Wilson Library at UNC-Chapel Hill | Chapel Hill, NC
9:30-10:00 Arrival and Sign In
Coffee will be available during this time.
10:00-10:30 Setting the Schedule
Participants will vote for the sessions they want to have during the day. Three will be selected for Session 1 and three for Session 2.
10:30-11:30 Session 1
Participants will break out into three discussion groups in the Pleasants Family Room and Room 504.

11:30-12:00 Reconvene and Report
Groups will return to Pleasants Family Room and Session Leaders will give summary reports of each group’s discussion.
12:00-1:30 Lunch Break
There are many options for lunch in the area. Close to Wilson Library, Lenoir Dining Hall and the Carolina Student Union have many dining options. Many restaurants are also located on Franklin Street at the north end of the UNC campus.
1:30-2:30 Session 2
Participants will break out into three discussion groups in the Pleasants Family Room and Room 504.

2:30-3:00 Reconvene and Report

3:OO-3:15 Break
Coffee will be available during this time.
3:15-4:00: Closing Conversation
Steve Weiss, Curator of the Southern Folklife Collection at UNC-Chapel Hill, and Jina Valentine, Assistant Professor at UNC-Chapel Hill and Co-creator of the Black Lunch Table project and audio archive, will have a conversation about their work with artists’ archives and their perspectives on the day’s discussions.

For those coming from the airport: The airport is about 20 miles from Chapel Hill, so you will most likely need to take a taxi (simplest option). A taxi ride to Chapel Hill costs approximately $40.
